I haven't been really talking about my supply shop. I guess it's because making jewelry is really exciting, and the supplies I sell are the ones that I have too many of for the ideas I have using them.

I have a bone to pick with stylehive! It took me ten minutes to find my url, and that's only because I backengineered it from my rss feed url! I'm internet savvy enough to know that a url that says 'myhive' can only be used by me when I'm logged in. The sharing tools were totally useless. Personally, people on my contacts in gmail- don't care what I think of the latest jewelry. My mom, my profs, people from grad school, people from undergrad...all people who don't want stupid spam in their box! Not to mention, facebook! folks from high school,undergrad and grad school? don't care about my latest fashion picks! That's why I need a url to show only people who actually care my stylehive. And make it easy for me. Web 2.0 is the hot new thing, but use common sense. I like social shopping as much as anyone else- but I know my friends irl[i.e. the main people I have in my email list] would rather eat a live mouse than get eleventy emails everytime I joined a new site.

I think I have at least ten items to post on various websites this week. I wonder if I overdid it on the crafting. And then I have to promote promote promote..

When I saw sunlight, I ran outside and started snapping photos. 25 photos, and only a few need to be thrown out. I don't know why I take my best photos in the sun. Of course, I need to do a lot of cropping!

I forgot my own two year etsyversary. But the truth is that I don't remember when I started actually paying attention to etsy, so the date of my true etsyversary has been lost to history.

My new etsy goal is to reduce my list of favorite sellers down to 1000. I have 1056 right now. I'm hoping to get the size of my favorites down to 500, although that will be tough.

My mother found this article in the newspaper. I think I'll spend the rest of the evening working on flickr.

The two sides fallacy:

I believe that whenever two groups come into conflict, especially when there is a powerful differential, this will happen. Let's imagine that crocheters post fifty threads per day on the etsy forums about how jewelers suck- they post too much, their stuff isn't really handmade because they just put storebought stuff together, everyone posts jewelry, and the jewelers post five threads per day about how fruit doesn't need cozies, and how nobody needs that many knitted items anyway. In discussing this, someone will say something about 'it goes both ways' or 'it's on both sides', completely ignoring the difference in volume between the two. Add a power differential, and well...that happens super often. urgh.

I made 5 items. My problem is that I keep losing things and have to look for them. For example, I have no idea where my craft glue is now.

Challenge update: with gluey fingers, I've gotten two items made.

My challenge to myself is to create 15 items this weekend. Spring is coming and new stock must be produced! The problem is that when I create new items, it's difficult to take pictures of them because it is so cold. With 15 more items, I'll have new items to post to my website, etsy,lov.li, even mintd!

After a long morning of tagging and detagging, I made this list of this week's etsy bead theme of the week sale items. I was going to take a day off, but there's newsletters to be sent, photos to be taken, and probably other things!

I've never seen a person for sale on etsy before. I've been doing some more pictures for my website, and I think that it's time for a big monsterslayer order.

Today was a good picture taking day. I wished that I had made more items yesterday to photograph! I made a ring today. I felt a bit guilty taking the screwback off an earring to make it, but then again- it's better that the earring gain a new life as a ring.

I'm going to start the tough measure of rephotoing all the items on my website. I think this rephoto went pretty ok.

I made a new list on kaboodle. It's all the items that I have discounted for the etsybead theme of the week- ring in the new year. I selected the theme for this week.

Today was not a good picture day. More than 10 pictures, but none came out.

I've made three items that I haven't taken any photos of yet. I've also added kaboodle and stylefeeder to my quiver of social networking sites. Of course, flickr will always be my favorite.

I was planning to start taking more pictures of my destash for my new supply shop, but after the wind blew my camera over, I was forced to retreat. I hear that it's better to spread out your listings if you're making a new shop, so the shop will be stocked slowly over weeks.
