Popular seller artfulmarket returns! Much supply buying ensues. Etsy attempts to calm upset sellers using a storque article.
Also, my ebay auctions are ending tommorow. Buy my comics so I can buy some more.

About the missing Artful Market on etsy, you can still purchase from her from her website.
She also created a blog, if you want to lend her your support. Also, former etsy shops have set up a group .

Recycling and reusing is getting a boost on etsy. I save and reuse packaging supplies, and use recycled materials for some of my items.

On NPR, I heard of a festival where you buy minature versions of the things you want in the coming year. So I was inspired to make a mini festival list at kaboodle.

Not my picture.
Today, I bought a tic tac toe game from a boardgame maker. I'm torn though. Should I keep it for myself and pull it out during lulls in board gaming or should I let the children at work play it? They love mancala.

This is an interesting thread on ebay.
Personally, I think that there are some factors that people weight differently in choosing a venue:
fees: how much does it cost?
sales: how much can you sell?
traffic: how many people come to the site per day?
cachet: does it sound cool to people?
community: are the other sellers nice?
customer service: is it good?
bugginess: does the site work?
Personally, I'd prefer high fees, high traffic, and high sales to low fees, low traffic, and low sales. Cachet, community and consumer service are less important concerns. I dislike a buggy site.
I think that if you need the money, go with the high sales even if there are high fees. If you can afford to wait for months to get a sale, you can go on other venues.

Thoughts on ebay and etsy:
On ebay, $200 per month is a small seller.
On etsy, $200 per month is doing good.
Of course, on etsy, almost all items must be produced by hand, thus limiting the quantities that can be sold.
hehhe, this is a fun thread. Personally, I don't get wagglepop. That site has no customer base, and so for 9.95 per month, you could just get your own website. It's not like etsy, which at least has buyers cruising the 'aisles'.

On etsy, the color picker has been changed.
I also learned an important business lesson from Krogers. You see, I've been shopping at Schnunks because they have a wider variety of foods, and I don't have to go very far to find something interesting. I went into Krogers since cereal is usually cereal, and I found a much improved international section- Carribean, Thai and British food were added- and a lot more other improvements. I thought that was a good idea because the 'lots of food in bulk' sector in this neighborhood is so crowded- we have Aldis, walmart and target all vying for that sector. So I like how they are diversifying into a sector that a)has room for growth b)has higher margins.

The missing man- from a seattle newsstory.
An etisian's husband has gone missing. If you live in the Seattle area, keep your eyes peeled for her husband
I am amused at how many people on stupidfree are praising rivka's stuff and buying it. Really, I don't think it's right to wholesale copy her stuff. Now, I'm not the sort of person who goes into copying witchhunts- I'm not going to start suing everyone who makes pink earrings, but I can understand why rikva is so upset. So all of you, support rikva as she is original and awesome, not sucky like that copier.

Seller Update: New Media Pricing Effective February 20
animeg3282,
By now, we hope you've had the chance to watch the Keynote and Executive Q&A webcasts from our annual eCommerce Forum held recently in Washington D.C. We heard your comments about the need for media and category-specific pricing and are accelerating our plan to phase it in. This fee cut will coincide with the site-wide pricing changes previously announced (see Basic Fees and Feature Fees) and will take effect on February 20.
In the Books, Music, Movies and Video Game software categories, we will be offering even lower insertion fees for the first three insertion tiers as follows:
Starting Price Current Fee New Lower Fee
$0.01 - 0.99 (auction-style only) $.20 $.10
$1.00 - 9.99 (auction-style & fixed price) $.40 $.25
$10.00 - 24.99 (auction-style & fixed price) $.60 $.35
For more information on these changes, please see the latest announcement for details. By rewarding and differentiating our best sellers, we will together deliver more of the great shopping experiences found nowhere else but on eBay.
I mostly sell media items on ebay so I am feeling pretty good there. Combined with free gallery, I think that this will be a good change.
I'm not the type to turn my nose up at a venue that I can get sales in. Personally, I have to admit that I don't put much credence into strikes as many people would rather get sales and make money than have their merchandise sit for free.

I decided
to take photos of older designs instead. I guess I could remake these in several colors since I like the idea of them
I'm promoting, promoting, promoting lately. I have put ads on backpage.com, added myself to several link directories, and had my etsy store linked on a blog. Soon I'll use banner ads for project wonderful. My only regret is that I am unable to use this lovely sunlight because I didn't make anything.
