because my handwriting really sucks, and I can't draw. I need the lines so that at least most of the words of a sentence will be on the same line, but blank journals tend to be sold more often- especially if they are handmade! It's a sad life.

I prefer lines also. Without them my handwriting tends to go on an angle.
Mine too, and when it goes on an angle, it becomes unreadable, even to me.
now, i thought i was bad, but you've got me beat, lmao! now my boyfriend on the other hand...he has to translate his scribble for me.
i can make out some of what you wrote though.
