Why do people ever buy new clothes? I think that because I just walked out of my door, nabbed two shirts, one from Banana Republic and one from New York and Company, for 50 cents each, and then returned here to my computer and my blog. Yard sales- in spring and summer and fall, they are constant, and in winter, you can just go to the thrift store, which is more expensive- the shirts are $4- but also more convenient.

My most favorite clothes come from consignment stores, cheap! And I'm getting rid of my clothes there, so I hardly pay anything!

Keep the movement going!

It's like a clothing trade then. Much better for the wallet than buying 2 shirts for $40

And more fun that way too!

And as a crafter you can always embellish and it'll still cost less than if you bought it in a store or boutique.

actually, I can't sew at all, so I wear them as is.

ah, maybe yard sales are a solely american invention..

i hear ya.

i hardly know what the inside of clothing store looks like anymore. if it doesn't come out of my sewing room, it comes from goodwill or some other second hand place. i can't be bothered.

I'm wearing a second hand interview suit right now! Let anyone tell me to spend $200 on what I spent 50 cents on! To be fair, the pants and the inner top were donated to me by relatives and the outer top I bought for fifty cents.
