This is a picture of some eggs my mom got from a hen in South Memphis[an urban area considered to be 'the ghetto']. Small scale agriculture can pop up anywhere. It's the growing season now, so shop local and shop often.

Yea, in the spring and summer is the best time to jump on that wagon. Or at least it is here.
Although a lot of the farm products we get here aren't really 'shopping' local. It's more of a gift economy...
